ADDICTIONS

Addictions can manifest as dependency on substances (alcohol, drugs) or behaviors (gambling, food, internet) that provide temporary relief but cause long-term harm.
Common signs of addiction include
• Intense cravings and urges • Loss of control over usage or behavior • Tolerance (needing more to achieve the same effect) • Withdrawal symptoms when stopping • Neglect of responsibilities and relationships
You don’t have to face these challenges alone. In our sessions, we’ll work together to:
1. Use Motivational Interviewing to discover your own reasons for change and strengthen your commitment to recovery. 2. Create a detailed relapse prevention plan, identifying personal triggers and developing healthy coping strategies. 3. Involve family members (when appropriate) to build a supportive environment, setting clear boundaries and fostering understanding. 4. Challenge and reframe any beliefs that fuel substance use or compulsive behaviors through Cognitive Restructuring. 5. Connect you with peer-led support groups, facilitating ongoing community encouragement and accountability.
