DEPRESSION

Depression, or Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), can significantly impact a person’s daily functioning and quality of life. It often arises from a combination of genetic, biological, environmental, and psychological factors.
Common signs of depression include
• Persistent sadness or low mood • Loss of interest in previously enjoyable activities • Changes in appetite or weight (increase or decrease) • Sleep disturbances (insomnia or hypersomnia) • Fatigue or loss of energy
As a counsellor, I’m here to guide you toward brighter days. Together, we can:
1. Identify and challenge negative thought patterns with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), helping you gradually replace them with more balanced perspectives. 2. Use Behavioral Activation to re-engage with activities you once enjoyed, giving your mood a lift and rekindling hope. 3. Practice mindfulness techniques that cultivate present-moment awareness, reducing rumination and enhancing emotional regulation. 4. Address interpersonal conflicts or life transitions through Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), allowing you to process difficult interactions and move forward. 5. Develop personalized relapse prevention plans, so you can recognize early warning signs and maintain the progress you work so hard to achieve.
